The applications for financial aid can be intricate and complicated.  Filling them out properly and completely can increase the chances that your application will be processed quickly and successfully.  It’s extremely important to send in your applications as soon as possible. In the event of a discrepancy, you’ll have ample time to work out a solution.

The first step in the application process is to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  This information will be processed and used to determine what programs you will qualify for. You will not be eligible for federal programs such as the Stafford Loan Programs, as well as Federal Grants if you do not fill out the FAFSA.

FAFSA applications are available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Additionally, paper copies are made available in the counseling center of your high school.  Submitting your application online is typically the quicker of the two processes.  You may submit your FAFSA after January 1st for the upcoming year.
